I'm glad people are starting to realize that what goes in will eventually come out. This article shows that an increase of sexual content brings an increase in sexual activity. Kids are influence by what they see and hear. The study finds that 40% of music is sexual in nature (no figures are given for TV). Therefore, kids who are exposed to sex between 12 and 14 are more likely to have sex before 16.
"Despite the flood of hormone-soaked shows and songs, less than 1% of
teen media content focuses on sexual health or family planning.
'What's missing in the media are the three C's,' Brown said. 'Rarely is there a commitment, contraceptives or consequences.'"

Wired News story
HOORAY! now that's my kind of story. I quit watching TV this school year. There are simply too many ads and too much crap every time I turn it on. Instead, I download my favorite shows and watch them ad free. My two favorite shows that are currently on air are family guy and the IT crowd (yeah, I'm a techy/geek). I'm never home for family guy, and the IT crowd is only available in the UK.
This article says that more shows are going to be offered for download LEGALLY with some ads, or you can pay a small fee to keep the show. This is a much better alternative if companies are worried about losing revenue to the internet. But in reality, they aren't losing anything. I wouldn't watch the TV because I'm not at home. So I help spread the word in hopes that other people will tune in to the mind altering ads.

| 4-7-06 Discovery Channel News Story Saw this article and made me think of wilson.
Many people are worried about Global Warming, but few show the good that could come of that.
For one, if the ice caps thaw, the desert will get more rain, which means more food.
Also, fish will spread farther north. The more area a fish has, the more little fishes can be born, and therefore we get more food.
Forests used for timber will also be able to spread farther north, meaning more wood for our houses and such.
While good may come, each thing will also be countered by dozens of bad things. Read the article for a full list of the "losing biodiversity" shpeel.
I thought that was interesting to see a different side of the argument.

TIME.com article
For the most part I like that bill. It bans abortions in all cases except when having the child could actually kill the mother. In some states, abortions can be performed when having the child would be a detriment to the mother's health. That can mean a lot of things: "mental" health, "financial" health, "physical" health (possibly meaning that it would stretch out her belly), etc.
"Punish the rapist, not the baby" is part of the motto. The bill also bans abortion in cases of rape and incest.
Now in the case of carrying a child because of rape, I'm not sure exactly how I would feel, because I'm not a woman. But otherwise, the woman should have been worried about the previous ideas of health
before she got pregnant.
your stance on abortion, anyone?
